BIM4SME is once again proud to be working with RICS to co-host the RICS BIM4SME Awards 2016.
Last year’s successful ceremony embodies one of our core goals: To celebrate the best practice and exemplar level 2 BIM projects that SMEs are playing a leading part in. This year we’re planning a bigger and better event that will continue to showcase the best of SME BIM. We’ve also signed a two year deal with RICS to co-host the event to ensure that it continues to grow in its scope and influence.
Members of the BIM4SME team launched this year’s awards at the RICS BIM Conference on the 25 February 2016, where the team also gave a presentation with other members of the the KT4BIM Virtual Level 2 Project.
SMEs make up the great majority of all companies working in the construction. Their participation is critical to the success of BIM Level 2 in the UK, which becomes mandatory this year for centrally procured government projects. BIM4SME and RICS believe that SMEs are the engine room of our industry and they deserve much greater recognition for their contributions and innovation to the implementation and use of BIM in projects.
The award categories provide a broad range of opportunities from beginners starting their BIM implementation to entrants working collaboratively or innovating within the built environment. Any company from the entire supply chain can enter. The 2015 awards were widely publicised across the construction press, making the benefits of entry are clear. This is a great opportunity to promote your company and receive the same accolade that last year’s winners and runners up got.
